HAJMA

Before kickoff

How to play Hajma

A soccer trivia match between two teams on one screen, run by a ref. Every rule on one page.

The match board

Match steps

  1. Split into two teams and pick a ref

Split the room into two teams of any size, and pick a ref to hold the phone or run the screen.

  2. Name your teams

Type each team’s name, and each team picks three lifelines before kickoff.

  3. Pick six categories

Teams take turns picking three categories each, filling the six-category board.

  4. Play the questions

The team on the clock picks a 200, 400 or 600 point question (each team gets one of each value); the ref reads, reveals and judges.

  5. Full time

When the board is cleared, most points wins. Level on points? It ends in a tie.

Scoring

Every category has six questions: two for 200 points, two for 400 and two for 600. Higher points mean harder questions. The ref taps the team that got it right to award the points, or “Nobody.”

Rules on every question

The Steal

If the team on turn gets it wrong, the rivals can answer, and a correct answer takes all the points. Stay sharp, even on their turn.

The Hat-trick

Every third right answer in a row earns the team 100 bonus points, and whoever breaks a rival streak of three or more takes 100 too. A steal breaks a streak but doesn’t build one.

The Hint Ladder

In the Hints category, the ref reveals the hints one at a time, and each one lowers the value: the first is worth it all, then 60%, 40%, 25%, and 20% for the fifth. So a 600 question pays 120 on the fifth hint.

Special Rounds

The slot’s value is the most a round can pay: each correct answer earns its share, and finishing the round earns it all.

The Clock

Easier questions get a shorter clock and harder ones a longer one, and the last 10 seconds tick out loud. When time is up, the answer shows and the ref makes the call.
