How a match works

  1. The board: six categories

    The board: six categories

Each team picks three categories, so the board holds six — each with 200, 400 and 600 point questions. The team on the clock picks one.

  2. The ref reads, the clock runs

The question fills the screen — crests, faces, lineups or text. The team talks it over and answers before time runs out.

  3. Reveal and judge in one tap

Reveal and judge in one tap

The ref reveals the answer and taps the team that got it — or “Nobody.” Points add up automatically.

Rules that swing the score

Full rules

The Steal

If the team on turn gets it wrong, the rivals can answer, and a correct answer takes all the points. Stay sharp, even on their turn.

The Hat-trick

Every third right answer in a row earns the team 100 bonus points, and whoever breaks a rival streak of three or more takes 100 too. A steal breaks a streak but doesn’t build one.

The Hint Ladder

In the Hints category, the ref reveals the hints one at a time, and each one lowers the value: the first is worth it all, then 60%, 40%, 25%, and 20% for the fifth. So a 600 question pays 120 on the fifth hint.

Special Rounds

The slot’s value is the most a round can pay: each correct answer earns its share, and finishing the round earns it all.

The Clock

Easier questions get a shorter clock and harder ones a longer one, and the last 10 seconds tick out loud. When time is up, the answer shows and the ref makes the call.

FAQ

What is Hajma?

Hajma is a soccer trivia game for two teams on one screen. Each team picks three categories, the ref reads the questions and judges the answers, and the team with the most points wins.

Abdulrahman Alqadiri, an iOS app developer in Kuwait.

How many players do we need?

Two teams of any size and one ref who holds the phone or runs the screen. Great for game nights, family gatherings and watch parties.

Where do I play: web or app?

Both, with one account. Open hajma.app on a TV, laptop or phone, or get the iPhone app. Whatever you buy on one shows up on the other.

How many categories are there?

128 categories: player photos, career paths, crests, lineups, the Wall, Rosco, Taboo, the Auction, the Buzzer, plus clubs, national teams, competitions and Arab leagues.

Do questions repeat?

No. Hajma skips the questions you’ve already played on your account, so every match brings new ones.

Is Hajma free?

Signing up is free, and your first game is on us when you sign up. After that, games are bought in the Store. Each game is a full six-category match, saved in My Games so you can pick up where you left off.

What languages does it support?

Arabic and English — switch with one tap.
